Adventure Capital: The Bittersweet Hereafter

See that teeny tiny date in the upper right hand corner?

That's my wedding anniversary. It was a beautiful day.

As I write this, I would have been married--happily, very happily--for 15 years by now.

What happened instead these past 10 years is the subject of another story.

The money side of it has been bittersweet, to say the least.

The financial impacts of widowhood and divorce have interested me ever since. I may joke about Social Security here (and no, I still haven't made the call), but without them, Miss M and I would have been pretty well sunk. Friends and family started a college fund for Miss M that year. And my husband's family and my own were there every step of the way.

I had friends who brought us dinner, bought Mo gifts, made things work.

It takes a village to sustain a CheapBohemian.

So I saved a little over $100 bucks this week. But also realized that I have the greatest friends and family in the world.

  1. Hey there, sweetie! I feel just the same about you...and Miss Mo!

  2. Wish we could all be celebrating your anniversary this week with pie and champagne. You were a great couple--too smart for your own good, of course, but funny enough to make uber smarts charming!
